What do I feed my dogs?

I have tried lots of brands but I have come back to Nutro as my brand of choice. I like Nutro Max Large Breed Adult for dogs over 12 months of age and Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy for the younger dogs.

There is rarely a lack of opinion from breeders on what feed to use but this is what I use because:

1. The dogs like it.
2. I have had great success with their coats on this feed.
3. Smaller stool size.
4. It doesn't create or cause me problems.

Now, you may be wondering what I mean by creating problems. In mid 2005 I tried switching to Diamond. My dogs coats SERIOUSLY deteriorated to the point that medical attention was required. I didn't put it together for a while but once I discontinued the Diamond and went back to Nutro, the coats came back and I haven't had ANY problems since.

Nutro is my brand.

First, Chocolate has been bitten on the leg again. She is on Anirobe and rimadyl. She also got an injection of antibiotics. I have been given instructions to keep the wound from absyssing.

Tammy Stephenson called and is just thrilled with Maegan. I really live for this type of call. Putting the right dog with the right person is wonderful.

Staci Sirios called me Saturday morning and told me that they had done an emergency spay on Keena because she had pyometra. It was a close call. She literally popped like a balloon when they tried to drain her. There was no discharge and we are forunate that Staci keeps such a close eye on her girl.

The good news is that Keena is going to be fine. Again, teh right dog is with the right person.

This morning the sun was shining so I let all the girls out for the day. It started raining about an hour later. :(

By the time I got home, they were filthy. Susie was so pitiful that she just sat down at the gate, in the rain and mud, and waited. She is either very smart or very dumb! I couldn't take it and brought her in! I bathed her first and then Lex and finally Chocolate.

What a mess. Now they are warm and dry.
