I got to see Amara and you didn't and now you're jealous and you should be because she is beautimous and wonderful, hahahahahaha!

OK, now that I have gotten that out of my system... Amara really does look good. She is a bonafide Super Sweetie. She is a puppy in every way. Everything and everyone is a toy and she just can't wait to get at them. She has HUGE bone and mass and I think she may be exactly what Jennifer was looking for from this breeding. She has Choclate gorgeous butt and Lucca's broad head and the biggest front I have seen, bar none. Angles? ChocoDiva's! Miss Amara Jane (I knew Jennifer couldn't resist the darkside and had to give her a second name!) has the potential to be one helluva good bitch.

Chocolate was an absolute ham while we were there. She was playing with her daughter and acting all silly and lovie. Oscar was his normal Uber Goober self and really showing out since he wasn't the absolute center of attention. He is in spectacular shape.

Imprinting is a powerful thing. You would be surprised by how many of the babies seem to remember me when we are reunited. They get very excited and trust me and the family very easily. Brian is seven months old in these pictures and is demonstrating another form of imprinting. When I got Brian from Sandra, we brought him home and of course he stayed inside for a couple months. He wasn't crated during that time and was simply closed in our bathroom when we weren't home. For reason I cannot explain, he took to sleeping in the bath tub. We would put down towels and that became where he would go every evening regardless of whether the door to the bathroom was closed or not. To this moment, when Brian gets sleepy and he is inside he will whine so that he can go into the bathroom. Sometimes he gets into the tub but he has gotten rather large and even though it is a garen tub, he doesn't fit as well as he used to. If I could just get him to stop eating the toilet paper...

When Morrigan was about 16 mopnths old I switched here over to a raw chicken diet. Mostly thighs and legs. She loved it. It gave her a great coat, tremendous muscle tone and the prettiest, strongest teeth you can imagine. A chicken thigh bone is to a mastiff what a potato chip is to you or me.

When the first litter of puppies was born, I fed them their first raw meal at about 7 weeks old. It was not a problem. As the pups grew, it became more and more difficult to simply handle the raw food and after a few months, I abandoned the raw diet and switched to Nutro.

I bring all this up because I have recently slaughtered a couple of my monster chickens. They each weighed about 18 pounds and looked more like turkeys than anything I had seen in a chicken house. Regardless, we have been eating allot of chicken, we had some frozen and some of the thawed was a week old. I didn't want to freeze it that late so I thought I would give it to the dogs as a reward for just being fantastic doggies.

Lexus, Susie, Lilly, Roxie and Trojan are old hands at the raw chicken eating game. They don't try to gulp it down but they cetrtainly don't waste any time either. Susie got a thigh and it was gone in about 40 seconds. None of them came close to swallowing it whole, they just recognized it for what it was and systematically devoured it.

I was a little concerned about CiCi. I didn't know how she would react. I shouldn't have worried. She took it as an old pro and ate hers with a calm efficiency.

That leaves the little/big guy. Puddy is quickly becoming the largest of my dogs. He is putting on serious weight and his neck is developing beautifully. When he got his thigh, he licked it for about three minutes. I felt bad for him because he knew he wanted it but he didn't know how to go about it. To his credit, he didn't try to swallow it whole. Finally, with just his front teeth, he picked up the thigh and gave it a gentle shake. A TINY piece of meat came off and he swallowed it. From there he got continously more aggressive until when I gave him a leg (I had an extra piece and he got it) he just picked up the meaty end and gnawed it down like a kid crunching on a lollipop.

I don't think I will wait so long before raw feedings anymore. Maybe a couple times a week from here. I love what it does for their teeth and I love watching them be a dog. Carnivores are meat eaters and I think I do them a disservice to keep fresh meat from them. Raw chicken for seven please.

We have a Macey sighting! If you could ever tell that two girls were sisters it is Macey and Lexus! Miss Macey sure does look happy!

Here is what Trojan and I will do all winter long. Walks in the woods at lunch. Don't watch this thinking something extraordinary is going to happen. It is just a man and his dog walking in the woods...

Grendel has been placed in a wonderful home in South Carolina. It is always hard for me to watch them drive away when they have Morrigan's eyes. The lady who has him has had Mastiffs for years. He will do well and he gets to sleep on the bed every night. :)

Brian's big Saturday:

9:00 Papa Jim brought me inside and gave me TWO baths.

10:00 We got in the big white car and drove to were there were lots of cars.

10:30 Papa Jim got out and left me by myself in the car!

10:45 He came back! But his hair is shorter. and then he got me out and then we went inside the place and lots of girl people rubbed me. Cool.

10:50 Back in the car and rollin'

11:15 out at a place with LOTSA teenagers and they are all wearing shorts. They run allot. something called cross country. Folks everywhere and everyone wants to know how big I am and how old I am and what my breed is, whatever that means. What is a Sandlot and who is Beethoven and Hooch?

11:30 what the hell is that! It looks like a dog butt it is tiny! Papa said something about standardpoodle? Awfully jumpy little thing. And loud! And there is a Shitzu and a Corgi and a sooner. Whats a sooner?

1:00 We are at WALMART! The happiest place on earth. I got a burrito from Taco Bell! Mmmmmm.

2:00 We are back home! Yeah.

2:01 Note to self, don't mess with Granpa Trojan's food. It is hazarous to your health. He's scary.

8:00 Back in the white car. wonder where we are going.

8:15 out on a farm where the music is real loud, there are flashing lights and there is a funny smokey smell in the air. Makes me feel funny...suddenly I have the munchies...Folks everywhere and everyone wants to know how big I am and how old I am and what my breed is, whatever that means. What is a Sandlot and who is Beethoven and Hooch? what is dejavu?

8:30 lots of dogs here too! Me and Roscoe (Roscoe is a sooner...sooner be one breed than another) play for about three hours. Papa Jim keeps muttering something about his shouler being yanked out of socket...

12:00 Home again. Time for sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
