Camera phone pictures are never the best but when you see something unusual, they are nice to have handy. I didn't even bother carrying my phone for most of the week but when your soon to be 64 year old father decides he is going to scale a tree, you gotta go get the camera...

Once he got up there, he started torturing Brian. All Brian had to do was look up but he kept going around the tree.

It didn't last to long because Brian got bored and went back to the creek where he was trying to eat the waterfall.

We got pretty bored with the NCIS marathon and went on a hike on some of the local trails. This was Brian's absolutely favorite part of the weekend. He regularly walks with me on the trails at home and we were both comfortable with him walking about fifty feet in front of us. We saw this HUGE Muscadine vine growing alongside the trail on a Hemlock tree. The tree was better than three feet in diameter to give you a sense of scale.
